no i didn't go on holiday. i went on a working trip over the weekend. was staying over at pattaya, but our vessel was in sattahip, which is a 45mins drive away. siam bayview proved to be an awesome hotel yet again.

one of the coolest thing was that the vessel was alongside in a NAVAL base. part of the naval base is opened for commercial vessels to berth. behind our vessel was a rig, waiting to be tow offshore (i saw pple changing on the rig...) and in front of us was a commerical carrier, carrying stuff for the US army (hmmm am i supposed to be blogging about this?) well the US army cute made for eye candy...

i am thankful to the crew on grace. they were really nice, treated me well, and more importantly, they were pretty receptive towards teletubby. i'm not sure how much receptive-ness will continue after we are gone from the vessel. but during the trg, they have impressed me with their willingness to learn. i can see that they were being involved by the questions they asked, one of them even asked for a dummy system to be installed into his laptop so that they can practice the system in their free time. i know that to them, this is additional work, esp since it's new and everyone is unfamiliar with this. but this will make life easier for them in the long run, without having them to slave over writing on their logs etc. they can just key it into the system. so i thank you, master and crew of grace. for being participative during trg. :)

one thing i learnt during this trip. i need to do more. i need to learn more besides just the certifications and teletubby. i need to learn more about hsqe. during the 2 days we were there, i think there was about close to 1.5 days that the teletubby eng and i were doing nothing. we were just sitting ard waiting for the crew to be free. seriously. waste of time and really inefficient. sigh. i felt kinda useless for a bit. poots. but i've come away from this trip with a couple of ideas to improve the damn teletubby implementation and stuff. so it wasn't all a waste of time i guess.

another thing i've learnt. indian nationals must always apply for visa when they need to return to singapore to take a flight back to india. because last night, when i was happily chatting and stuff, i was interrupted by a call from the teletubby engineer because he was not allowed to immigration. he didn't have a visa. woots! and guess what... no one of importance could help. he told me, 'i can't do anything from my side'. wtf. seriously. you are there in pattaya, nearer than i am to bangkok. and you can't do shit? seriously. in any case, managed to get him a ticket home. so that's settled. but it made me lose appetitte.

which brings me to this point, i have lost weight. i dunno how, or why, but i've lost weight. this morning when i put on my pants, it was more loose than before. sigh. already gaining weight is so hard, why must i lose weight?! why?! the god of obesity must hate me. POOTS. eat more, slp early (?! - i can only hope to start sleeping early...)

got a nice surprise this morning! pixie bought me turtles... hee hee... soft toy turtles. they are sooo cute! omg. i love them! thanks pixie. (why is it that girls are giving me things and not a guy? - not that i'm complaining) i love love love my new toys.... :)
